How to set up pricing tiers

Parent-facing pricing is what parents see when they reach checkout in your storefront. Distinct from your own platform billing — the rev-share tier you pay PPS is set elsewhere. This guide walks through building reusable pricing schemes you can apply across events.

  1. 1.Open Pricing in your PPS dashboard

In your Pro Photo Systems dashboard, go to /pro/pricing. This is the parent-facing pricing surface — distinct from the platform billing settings (which manage your own rev-share + module subscriptions). The Pricing page lists every pricing scheme your studio has created.

  2. 2.Create a new pricing scheme

Click New Pricing Scheme. Give it a name your team will recognize (e.g. "2026 Schools — Standard", "Sports — Premium with Memory Mate"). Pricing schemes are reusable — apply the same scheme across multiple events or organizations once it's built.

  3. 3.Add package tiers

Most volume-photography pricing leads with package tiers — Bronze / Silver / Gold style. For each tier, define what's included (e.g. 8x10 + four wallets + digital download), the parent-facing price, and the order in which the tier appears at checkout. The biggest tier usually anchors the page; the cheapest catches budget-conscious parents.

  4. 4.Add individual prints (a la carte)

Parents who don't want a package buy individual prints. Add common sizes (4x6, 5x7, 8x10, 11x14) with per-unit pricing. Include sheet packages (multi-up prints on one sheet) if your fulfillment workflow supports them. Sheet packages are cheaper per face but require Print Station / lab to support the layout.

  5. 5.Configure add-ons and upsells

Add upsell options that attach to a print or package: AI retouching (per-photo), text overlays (name + grade for school portraits), or specialty products like Memory Mates (combining individual + team composite). Each upsell shows as a checkbox or selector at the parent cart.

  6. 6.Add digital downloads (optional)

Many studios include a single digital download with each package; some sell digitals separately. Set per-photo digital pricing in the Digital Downloads section. Digital deliveries are zero-cost-to-you fulfillment — high margin if priced right.

  7. 7.Apply the pricing scheme to events

Pricing schemes attach to events. In an event's settings, set the scheme; the parent storefront for that event renders the scheme's tiers + a la carte + add-ons. Update the scheme any time before parents check out — pricing changes flow through automatically.
